This is a book that was later adapted into a series for Apple TV. I have not yet seen the show but just finished the book recently. Edward is a teen who is the sole survivor of a plane crash where nearly 200 others including his parents and brother perished. I don’t know what kind of format the show takes, but in the book, it basically alternates between Edward adjusting to a new norm, and events that take place on the plane over the course of the flight. So, one chapter might be a day in the life of Edward, and the next chapter is a flashback to a point during the flight.
You learn about many of the other passengers on the plane during the flashbacks. And during the “Edward” chapters, you are learning about the new people in his life, and how he is adjusting as time moves forward. You also learn about how the families of the victims are impacted by Edward. There are both sad and uplifting moments in the book, and it was an excellent ending.
I don’t have Apple TV right now, but I hope to eventually see the show to compare it to the book. But I do recommend the book at least! Check it out!
