I was looking for a movie to watch, and browsing on Prime/Freevee, and I came across this one. The plot basically said it’s about a man (Val Kilmer) who goes into a sheriff’s station and confesses to be a serial killer. I thought, hey, this looks interesting, and I like Val Kilmer- he’s an excellent actor. So, I’m like, ok, let’s check this out. I didn’t look closely at the type of movie it was.

What I thought was a crime thriller, turned out to actually be a horror movie. And I’m not generally a fan of horror movies, but by the time I realized it was a horror movie, I had already started watching a portion of it- and I decided to commit to it- after all, I do movie reviews, and I should write about it. So, I watched it from beginning to the end.

Almost right away, you could tell that it was not a major film. For starters, Val Kilmer was the only major star in the film, even though I recognized some faces (but not names) from other projects. Second of all, this all supposedly happens at a sheriff’s station- however the building says POLICE, and all “deputies” have generic Police Department uniforms. Even the squad cars are generic police cars. This was more of a “B” film where it looked like they cobbled together props as best as they could. The special effects were pretty generic and, in some cases, not realistic.

The movie turned out to be more of a supernatural film where Val Kilmer’s character was more of a sinister spirit out for revenge. I mean no disrespect to anyone who worked on the film. Val Kilmer as I said is a great actor, and the crew did the best they could with this movie- and there were some excellent cinema-worthy shots. But I did not like the film. But that’s just my personal opinion. Maybe there are people out there who liked it, and if so, that’s great! Then they achieved their goal.
