Some of you may remember, or at least be aware of the Space Race back in the 50’s and 60’s between the United States and Russia (then the Soviet Union). And that Soviet Union’s satellite, Sputnik 1 was the first to be launched into space, but the USA was first to land man on the moon. This show however turns almost all on that on its head. What if Soviet Union was the first to land on the moon? This show gives an incredible alternative history of the escalation of the space race after Soviet Union landed on the moon first. There are 4 seasons filled with intense, comical, and dramatic moments- each season jumps approximately a decade after the previous season ends. A 5th season is coming soon, and I’m excited for it. One of my favorite little things about it is how the show peppers you here and there with alternative outcomes to historical things outside of the space race, presumably influenced by the space race. If this sounds like your kind of thing and you haven’t seen it- go check it out!

Very enjoyable show. I always like the AppleTV+ visuals and special effects. They don’t insult our intelligence with the sound of rocket blasts in a vacuum. They don’t involve us in long chase scenes like in the old westerns where the stage coach horses can outrun riders on horseback for miles on end just to kill time. There are no long rocket launch sequences or space dome building scenes. The story moves on.

There are the good guys (USA) and the bad guys (USSR) who are all very smart people who end up doing not-so-smart things. Good versus bad sounds easy, but it gets complicated which is where the drama sets in.

    Worth the view.

Agreed! There’s no drama if everything is going smoothly. And the lines between right and wrong gets murky here, and thats what it makes interesting.
