This Australian mystery/drama movie has Eric Bana playing Aaron Falk, a federal agent who reluctantly returns to his hometown for the funeral of an old friend who died after allegedly murdering his wife and child. While there, his friend’s parents persuade him to investigate the case, because they did not believe their son was guilty.
The story grows more mysterious and tense as he uncovers possible clues that could link the case to the unsolved murder of another childhood friend 20 years earlier. As he works closely with a local cop (played by Keir O’Donnell), the investigation takes them into multiple directions until it culminates into a shocking and explosive ending.
You know the saying, “don’t judge a book by its cover”? Unfortunately, I’m guilty of that here. If you haven’t yet, take a gander above at the poster of the movie. The picture and title didn’t really grab my attention. I initially passed on watching this movie, once or twice, until I finally watched the trailer, and was like “hmm, maybe I should give this a try. Good or bad, I can still write about it”.
And I’m glad I saw it. I enjoyed it from start to finish, and that intense ending is still fresh in my mind. I can replay every detail of the ending in my mind as if I saw it yesterday. It’s a good movie- give it a check if you haven’t!
