Without giving away too much of the show, it starts with the Miller family being stunned as police burst into their house early one morning, and arresting their 13 years old son, Jamie (played by Owen Cooper). It is not long before they, and we learn that he was arrested for the murder of a female classmate.
Each episode is shown in a continuous shot (think of the movie 1917, if you’ve ever seen that), and focuses on a certain aspect of the process. For example, the first episode focuses on Jamie’s arrest, and the process that follows. Another episode focuses on an interview between him and a psychologist (played by Erin Doherty).
I thought that each episode was well done, and the cast –Cooper, Doherty, Stephen Graham & Christine Tremarco (as the parents), and Ashley Walters & Faye Marsay (as the detectives) acted amazingly. I think that it’s up to parents if they want their child to see this show, and when- but I think that parents should at least watch it, as they might find topics that they might want to discuss with their child. I think there’s a difference between being a hovering parent, and a parent who is actively involved and pay attention to their child’s life. That’s just my two cents anyway.
I definitely recommend this show, it was very good.
