This is the first book in a series. This is the story of a teenage girl, Avery Kylie Grambs, who has her life suddenly turned upside down, when she finds out some old billionaire guy named Tobias Hawthorne died and left most of his fortune and assets to her. This includes his very large mansion like home where his descendants (his daughters, and his 4 grandsons among them) currently live. There is a stipulation in his will that she must live in the home for a year before she can inherit, and his descendants must be allowed to live there unless they give her specific cause to kick them out.

Obviously the Hawthornes are pissed that they were mostly left out of the will and sees Avery as an intruder who doesn’t belong there. Some of them go as far to scheme for ways to get her out of there.

The book is full of puzzles, and riddles that she must solve along with the Hawthorne brothers. The brothers are all quite the characters by the way- all very different from one other, and very competitive with each other. It is hard to know who she can trust- whether they have ulterior motives when they interact with her.

And as I said, the story doesn’t end with this book as this is part of a series. I look forward to reading more of the series at some point!
