At a summer camp in the Adirondack Mountains, a camp counselor discovers that the daughter of the wealthy owners of the camp is missing. Soon the place is swarming with police and searchers. Everybody is shocked that there’s been a disappearance, again–the owners’ young son had also disappeared at least a decade earlier.

Everybody in the town knows everybody. They all know each other or so they think. As police dig into the mystery, people start to act suspicious, people refuse to cooperate, and secrets–yes more than one secret inch closer and closer to bust out in the open. A book that touches on topics like the difference between the wealthy and the lower class. Love and lack of love. Troubled family members with a past.

I love mysteries, and as mysteries goes, this was a great book. Full of characters who are complicated, investigators who are determined, and a mystery or two the reader awaits anxiously to be solved. Where is Barbara Van Laar? Read the book and find out!
