This tv series runs 3 seasons and is based on a British book series that I have not yet read but have also added to my list- I think there’s like 14 books in the series or something like that. There is an Alex Rider movie from 2006 called Stormbreaker, that I started watching a year or two ago, but I could not get into it enough to finish it.

But this TV series (originally on Amazon Prime before moving to Freevee), is the opposite. I couldn’t stop watching- I finished all 3 seasons in a short amount of time. It stars Otto Farrant as Alex Rider, a teenager who is suddenly recruited by The Department (a division of MI6) to go undercover as an agent, after the death of his uncle who was an agent with the Department.

There is plenty of action as Alex with the help of The Department, and his school friends, runs around the globe being a spy trying to get to the truth or saving the world. Each season is based on a different book in the series. I can’t compare the show to the books as I haven’t read them as of yet. But I just really enjoyed watching it, and if you like spy stuff, you might like this too.
