This story takes place in Washington State, where Detective Chelsey Calhoun, who has never recovered from the murder of her sister years earlier is quickly assigned a case where a teenage girl suddenly reappears some two years after going missing. It is believed that she had been abducted, and the detective is tasked to find out where she has been and what happened to her. Which she finds quickly is a difficult task because Ellie does not want to cooperate with the investigation. So, she is stuck trying to chase down leads on her own with little information.

Without giving spoilers to the book, I will say that there is much more to the story, and the book is full of twists and drama, along with an ending I did not see coming. If you like crime and mystery books, this might be a good one for you. It was well written by Emiko Jean, and I enjoyed reading it.
