I watched this movie this past weekend- I have no idea how I did not watch this sooner. It is a great movie, which is not surprising considering it was directed by Clint Eastwood. That guy knows what he is doing!

This movie tells the true story of how the band The Four Seasons came to be. The band comprises of 4 young men from New Jersey (Frankie Valli, Tommy Devito, Nick Massi, and Bob Gaudio). They started out as troubled kids, partly working for the mob in the 1950s before the band started in 1956. Just like many movies based on true stories of musicians, there is drama, there is love, and there is music. And it has the cool addition of breaking the fourth wall, where each member at different points is talking directly to us, the audience. I enjoyed that quite a bit. I don’t think it always works in movies, but it flowed very well in this one. Well done, Mr. Eastwood.

As I’ve mentioned before, I am deaf, so musicals aren’t always my thing, because I can’t really get into it- BUT movies that are based on true stories of famous musicians or bands–that I can get into, especially if it’s done really well.

I give this movie an A+ and I encourage you to watch it, if you like that kind of thing!
