I just recently finished this book that continues the adventures of Percy Jackson and his friends Annabeth and Grover. This is the 4th book in the series- and this kind of reminds me of the Harry Potter series, (if I have made this comparison before, just ignore me)- each story (book) is more dangerous and dire than the one before it.
In this book, they discover that there is a magical labyrinth that was created by Daedalus, and that evil forces have entered it and are trying to find Daedalus to help guide them to the exit within Camp Half Blood, where the 3 demigod (well two demigods, and a satyr) friends train every summer. The evil forces want to destroy the camp and its occupants before going for their ultimate goal of destroying Olympus. So of course, our three heroes and their friends must mount a mission to enter the maze and get to Daedalus first to protect the camp.
As usual, the book is told from the perspective of Percy, and he has a funny take on things, which makes the book more enjoyable. There are more wild monsters and creatures described in ways that you can’t even imagine. Which is not surprising because a lot of these characters come from Greek mythology. I enjoyed the book and am looking forward to reading the next one eventually. If you like fantasy and the harry potter series, you should give this series a go!
