I finished reading this book a few weeks ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. It was a compelling story with interesting characters and twists.
Ruby McTavish Callahan Woodward Miller Kenmore was North Carolina’s richest woman when she passed away at an old age. She had a very interesting life history- she made the news as a child when she was kidnapped and later found. She had been widowed 4 times, hence why she has that long name above.
Some years after she passes away, her adopted son Camden (to whom she left just about everything including the large mansion home in the Blue Mountains, with the feat that the other surviving family members be allowed to live there), reluctantly finally returns home from out west after a long estrangement, to finally settle her house affairs. He brings along his wife Jules for the trip.
After they get there, the truth of Ruby’s life history slowly starts to come out in pieces. It keeps you reading, wanting to know more, and it culminates in a series of twists. It was an enjoyable book- so if it sounds interesting to you, give it a check out!
