TJ Devlin is the troubled son in a rich family of lawyers called the Devlins. He is a recovering alcoholic who just recently finished a prison stint for a crime. He goes back home and is employed by his family’s law firm as an investigator. One night his brother John reaches out to TJ in a panic, saying that he believes that he may have killed someone. TJ is loyal and quick to help out-but in a twist turn of events, he quickly becomes the prime suspect.

So now TJ is rushing to investigate on his own to try to clear his name and protect his family. This is a great book with intense drama, emotions, and strained relationships within the family. There was even one part that upset me as much as it upset TJ, and I had to stop reading for the night! But I thoroughly enjoyed the book, and if you like murder mysteries and drama, this could be a book for you. This is the first of Lisa Scottoline’s books that i have read. I may have to read some of her other books.
