I finished reading this book two days ago- I hadn’t realized that there were two previous books, so this is not the first book in the series. But it’s still an excellent book by David McCloskey, who apparently is a former CIA analyst.

In this book, after some operations go awry abroad, CIA officer Artemis Procter believes there is a mole in the upper levels of the CIA, and that there are others in danger. She tries to sound off a warning to her superiors, who don’t believe her, and she is fired.

But that doesn’t deter her, and she launches her own investigation for the truth. She enlists the help of a fellow CIA officer and friend, Sam Joseph. They would go on to risk their lives while travelling all over following the clues and trying to eliminate fellow friends and colleagues as suspects.

It’s a thrilling book that kept me engaged from start to finish. I will need to go back and read the first two books sometimes and officially “catch” myself up on the background. If you like spy thrillers, you might like this book- Artemis Procter is quite a character. Very unique in many ways. You would have to read to find out what I’m talking about!
