This is the third book in the Percy Jackson’s series, and i just finished reading it last week. And I am still very much enjoying the series, and I look forward to reading the next one! If you haven’t read my previous post on the 2nd Percy Jackson book, let me fill you in on the background: Percy Jackson is a demigod- the son of Poseidon, the God of the Sea, and he and his friends Annabeth (daughter of Athena, Goddess of war, handicraft and wisdom), and Grover (a satyr) are called time again and again to save the world, and battle evil.
In this book, Percy goes rogue to attempt to save his friend Annabeth who is in danger, as well as attempt to save Artemis, goddess of chastity, hunting, and the moon. Evil has been awakening more and more since book 1, and the Gods and Goddesses are all preparing for war- and the Percy books are pretty much events that weave in and through all of that.
There’s not really much more I can say without giving out spoilers- but author Rick Riordan continues to do a great job of telling the story in the 1st person (through Percy) and includes humor and witty thoughts of Percy’s. Humor is also peppered by other characters throughout the book. It’s a great Young Adults (YA) series that keeps me wanting to read more, and more I shall read!
