This is the second Gray Man book in the series. I thought I wrote about the first book “The Gray Man” in an earlier post, but I don’t see it. So, I must not have! So let me back up and start at the beginning.
Some of you might have seen the 2022 Netflix movie, The Gray Man starring Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. Gosling plays the lead character, Court Gentry (otherwise known as the Gray Man), an assassin operative who finds himself hunted by assassins worldwide. And well, that movie is based on this book series by Mark Greaney.
The movie is vastly different from the first book though, and the movie has some characters that the book doesn’t even have. In my opinion, the book is much better, and much more intense. But the premise of the book and the movie is the same. Things go awry for Gentry, and he finds himself on the other end of a kill order that is contracted out to assassins worldwide.
Now, as I’m sure you’ve gathered, he survived, otherwise there would be no Gray Man series! Which brings us to THIS book, “On Target”. Another great book in the series- and in this one, the CIA offers Gentry the deal of a lifetime- they promise to cancel the Kill order on him, if he agrees to help them with a mission to kidnap the President of Sudan and bring him to the International Crimes Court (ICC). But of course, things don’t go according to plan, and he finds himself fighting for survival again.
I won’t go any further into it as I don’t want to give away the details of the book, but rest assured the book is GOOD, and I’m looking forward to reading the next one in the series soon!
