This Apple TV movie has Tom Hanks, need I say more? Ok, maybe that’s not enough for some of you- so let me tell you more! It is not based on a true story, but is set during WWII, and it gives you a bit of an idea of how intense, and terrifying experience it might be to transport food and supplies across the ocean during the war.
In this movie, US Navy Commander Ernest Krause (Hanks) is tasked with commanding a group of military escort ships in leading a huge group of allied ships in a convoy to transport food and supplies across the ocean, and in doing so, they have to travel through a warzone where German submarines and planes are constantly on the lookout for allied ships to sink.
Commander Krause not only has to coordinate his own ship’s response to enemy sights (such as submarines, and planes), but also the response of his fellow military escort ships as well. He also has to deal with ship malfunctions, and very cold weather. All of which is recipe for a very intense movie.
This movie does not disappoint. It has an excellent cast, amazing war time scenes, and a gripping story of a fight for survival. So here is me saying once again, check this one out!
