This book is a story located in the fictional town of Delano, Georgia where there is a serial killer at large. It starts in 1919, when the new growing town hires its first ever police chief. The second part of the book jumps to 1946 under a different chief. And the third and last part of the book jumps to 1963 under yet a third chief. In this book, you get very familiar with the people of the town, as well as see how racism and politics drive the events in the story. The book is well done and keeps you reading, and frustratingly wanting the case solved! There is also a bit of history and alternate history of united states events peppered throughout the story- and I am a fan of history, so I liked that about it as well. If you like mystery/crime novels- give this one a read!
