This is a book that was written by Claire Vanderpool and is a young adult book. Until a few months ago, while I love to read, I had been only reading occasionally, as I did not want to be always purchasing books for my Kindle to read. Then I had heard about this great app, called Libby- where you can check out books to read– yes yes I know there are places out there called libraries where you can go to find books to check out, but this is like the online version, and very much more convenient for people who likes to read from their Kindle or their phones. How many books you can check out at a time, and how many you can put a hold on to snag when its available appears to vary depending on which library you use–yes you need to have a library card to start a libby account. Anyway, this was one of the first books I read after I started using the Libby app, and I really liked it. The plot is this- Jack Baker is a 13 years old who is sent to a boarding school, and he befriends Early Auden, an autistic savant who is also 13. Their friendship mainly stems from the fact that they both are considered the outcasts of the school- Jack because he’s new, and Early because of his condition. Then during r a school break, Early decides that he needs to go on a quest on the river to find the ending to a story, and invites Jack to join. And that adventure is the story of the book. I highly recommend this book for young adults, and for any adults who enjoy reading young adult books.
